AirTag vs parking app: which finds your car better?
An AirTag shows where the car is now, while a parking app remembers where you left it. A tag needs nearby Apple devices, but it’s the better pick if the car might move. An app costs less and takes a note. Neither shows a garage level by itself. Tick what fits your car below.

What each one can and can’t do
AirTag. Apple says Find My shows it on a map and gives directions to its location. Up close, Precision Finding gives distance and direction, but only with a supported iPhone within Bluetooth range, and Apple says walls and other objects can affect it. In a garage that means it can help on the right level.
A parking app. It stores where your phone was when you tapped Save. It needs no hardware and costs less, but it doesn’t follow the car, so if someone else moves it, the pin is out of date.
Apple Maps. Free and automatic with Bluetooth or CarPlay, but it skips familiar places, and it has no note.
A photo. Works with no signal and shows the level, as long as you remember to take it.

Quick answers
Should I put an AirTag in my car?
If you want to see where the car is now, it’s a good fit. If you just need to remember where you left it, a free app or Apple Maps may do.
Does an AirTag work in a parking garage?
It can, but it relies on Bluetooth and nearby Apple devices, and Apple says walls and objects can affect it. It doesn’t tell you the level.
Is an AirTag better than a parking app?
For tracking a car that moves, yes. For remembering a spot with a note, an app is cheaper and simpler.
